Hermès Black Chèvre White Bus Tote

From the White Bus collection comes Hermès’ Black Chèvre Tote—a rare find indeed! It’s special in many ways, starting with the name. The White Bus and White Bus Up collections were named after Christian Blanckaert whose wife designed them for the Maison in 1996. Blanc is French for “white” but how kaert translates to “bus” is a mystery to me. Anyway, the name stuck and here it is in black chèvre leather (topstitched in cream) whose spine runs down the front and back in a most desirable way. It’s from 2000 (a D in a box) in very good condition with wear on the corners, bottom outside, and a little inside. The interior mint-colored leather lining is a nice surprise and features one zipped and one slide pocket. There is one more slide pocket on the front of the bag and the double rolled handles have a drop of 4.5 inches to be carried in the hand or over the arm. This open-top everyday tote is a vintage bag you don’t want to miss out on!
